The advanced compact mosfet (ACM) model and its application to the design and simulation of basic circuits

The inventions of the bipolar transistor and the integrated circuits in the past century were the most important milestones for the development of the semiconductor industry. The past six decades have witnessed an extraordinary growth of the electronics industry, supported by the evolution in semiconductor technologies. The sales of the semiconductor industry in 2022 reached an amount around $600 billion and are projected to grow to more than $ 1 trillion by 2030. In this talk we will look through some of the most important events in the evolution of the semiconductor industry as well as in applications that have been a driving force of the semiconductor business. To conclude this talk, the ongoing research at the Integrated Circuits Laboratory of the Federal University of Santa Catarina will be presented.
